TWO men assaulted a man in an unprovoked attack in Fareham.

Police are now appealing for information after the assault which took place in the garden area of Youngbridge Court, Redlands Lane between 5.30pm and 6pm on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old man had left the Bird in Hand pub.

A short time later a witness saw him being assaulted by two men.

One of the men left on a bike.

The victim was left with a suspected fractured eye socket as a result of the incident.

PC Christopher Dawes said: ‘The man’s last memory before being in hospital is leaving the pub; he can’t recall the assault itself.

‘We are appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened, or can help us identify the offenders to contact us.’
