A MAN accused of causing an accident which left a police motorcyclist with serious injuries has appeared in court.

Tim Terry, 56, of Gifford Close in Fareham, pleaded not guilty to one count of driving without due care and attention on November 11 last year when he appeared at Fareham Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that Terry’s Citroen C5 collided with the police motorbike, which had its emergency lights and sirens on, when he turned across a give way line on the A32 Wickham Road in Fareham.

The 52-year-old police officer was taking part in a training exercise at the time.

The case is due back at court on February 29 to set a trial date.
