A FORMER teacher has appeared in court over 46 sex offences.

Timothy Bleach, 76, of Hazel Walk, Petersfield, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday charged with rape, gross indecency and indecent assault. No pleas were entered.

The alleged offences related to alleged acts involving six girls under the age of 13 during the 1970s.

He was a teacher at Weyford Junior School in Bordon at the time. Bleach was charged following Operation Marmion, Hampshire police’s review of historic child sexual exploitation.

His case has been adjourned until June 27 at the same court.
