Four men face charges over Hampshire robberies and burglaries

FOUR men have been charged and will appear in court, following a string of robberies and burglaries across four counties, including in Hampshire.

Andrew Smith, 27, formally from Surrey; Stewart Last, 28, formally from Berkshire; Richard Loveridge, 27, from Berkshire; and Lee Fitzgerald, 37, of Berkshire, have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit burglary.

The incidents occurred between August 4, 2011, and February 8, 2012.

They include robberies at the Nationwide bank in Havant on November 25, 2011, and the Nationwide bank in Fareham on December 13, 2011.

They were charged by detectives from Hampshire’s Major Investigation Team.

The men are due to appear in Portsmouth Crown Court, on Monday, March 25, for a preliminary hearing.
