EIGHT of a missing dad’s friends and family are now in Prague searching for him.
And an estimated 250 people were at an event last night to raise money to continue the search for 34-year-old Karl Law who went missing last Saturday night while on his cousin’s stag do.
The dad-of-one, from Fareham, right, disappeared on a night out in the Czech capital at around midnight and has not been heard from since. Last night, his closest family members gathered at Hill Park Memorial Working Men’s Club in Highlands Road.
Karl’s sister Hannah, who is 14, last night said: ‘I found out he was missing after school on Monday. My mum told me he was missing.
‘The police in Prague should do more to find him. It all feels unreal. It’s really hard.’
Karl’s cousin, Lee Cross, was leading the party of 13 in Prague as the stag.
He returned to Fareham on Friday after spending days searching for Karl. He will return to the country next week.
He said: ‘Every day over there is just more searching. We are just hoping and praying he is found.
‘We went out to Prague last Friday. We were having a brilliant time. It was just the lads away, going to cocktail bars and having a good time.’
Lee said the hotel the group had been staying at in Prague, the Jury’s Inn, had been ‘fantastic’ and had printed all of their leaflets and posters for free, given them breakfast each day and reduced their nightly fees.
Friends Lisa Fletcher and Jo Bucklar organised Friday’s fundraiser to help cover the costs of Karl’s family while they stay in Prague. They had a band play, an auction, raffle and other activities.
Lisa said: ‘It is amazing what they are doing out there. They say what people are doing here is amazing but we are proud of them.’
- Another fundraiser for the family will take place at Club V at Cams Alders Stadium in Palmerston Drive from 2pm until late tomorrow.
