THE funeral of a man who died after sipping a cocaine-laced juice drink is due to take place today.

Father-of-one Joromie Lewis, 33, from Kings Road in Gosport, died on December 5 after drinking Pear D, a fruit drink which had been mixed with a lethal dose of the illegal drug.

Police believe drug smugglers may have used the bottle to bring cocaine into the country from the Caribbean.

Pastor David Price, of Bridgemary Family Church, will officiate at Church of St Mary the Virgin, Rowner Lane, Gosport.

Mr Lewis’ wife Jayrusha had paid tribute to her Royal Navy veteran husband, calling him a ‘devoted family-oriented man with a selfless attitude.’
