THIEVES have stolen goods worth more than £1,000 from a shop in Portsmouth.

An upstairs window of the Quids In discount store in High Street, Cosham, was smashed in before thieves made off with items.

Large rugs, furniture, picture frames and other household goods were taken.

Other stock and fixtures and fittings were damaged in the raid.

It happened overnight between Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8 – the same night the Naomi Hospice charity shop was raided.

Hampshire police said the goods were taken out of a fire exit on The Droke.

PC Graham Skull said: ‘It is likely that a vehicle was used and would most likely have been parked up in The Droke or the high street. ‘This is not the only recent burglary to shops in Cosham High Street recently.

‘If anyone saw anybody acting suspiciously or saw any large vehicles parked up in close proximity to the shop please contact us.’

Call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
