DRINK-DRIVER David Xuereb has been banned from the roads.

Xuereb pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Vectra in Tukes Avenue, Rowner, Gosport, after drinking too much alcohol.

A test revealed his breath contained 81 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millitres.

That is more than twice the legal limit of 35mcg per 100ml of breath.

Xuereb, 32, from Bedford Street, in Gosport, was fined £180.

He was also told to pay £15 to a fund for victims of crime and £30 in court costs.

And magistrates decided to ban him from driving for three years.

However the ban could be reduced by nine months on the condition that he pays to complete a government-approved driving course.
