A MOTORIST caught driving while twice the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the roads.

Karen Carver pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Megane in Richard Grove, Gosport, after drinking too much.

A test revealed the 53-year-old’s breath contained 98 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Carver, of Pegasus Close, Gosport, was ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work in the next year and told to pay £85 costs by Fareham magistrates.

She was banned from driving for two years.

The ban could be reduced by six months if she completes a government-approved driving course
