A MOTORIST was caught driving while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

Royston Kilby admitted driving a Volkswagen Polo in Cherry Close, Lee-on-the-Solent, after drinking too much on June 10.

A test revealed his breath contained 87 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35mg.

Kilby, of Privett Place, Gosport, was fined £115 by Fareham magistrates and banned from driving for 22 months.

The 41-year-old must also pay £15 into a fund for victims of crime and £55 in court costs.
