A MAN from Gosport has been in court charged with holding a man as a slave.

Hadley Doran, 22, is accused of holding a man ‘in slavery or servitude, namely to force him to undertake work for little or no payment.’

The offence is alleged to have taken place in the counties of Essex and Suffolk, and dates from July 1 2012 to March 23 2013.

Doran appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday and the case was committed to Chelmsford Crown Court on June 24.
