DRINK-driver Neil Armstrong has been banned from getting behind the wheel.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Fiesta in Clayhall Road, Gosport, while more than twice the legal alcohol limit on May 30.

A test revealed Armstrong’s blood contained 180 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

The legal limit is 80mg.

Armstrong, from Jervis Drive, Gosport, was fined £400 by Fareham magistrates.

He was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and £15 to a fund for victims of crime.

Armstrong was banned from driving for 18 months.

However the ban could be reduced by four months if he pays to complete a government-approved driving course.
