SERIAL shoplifter Eamon Reade has been ordered to get help for his drug problem.

Reade, from Turner Avenue, Gosport, admitted stealing coffee and cheese from the Co-op in Rowner Road, Gosport.

And the 29-year-old pleaded guilty to admitted two counts of stealing coffee from One Stop in Village Road, Gosport.

He admitted committing all three crimes while subject to two conditional discharges for theft.

Reade also pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing groceries from a Co-op in Gosport.

The total value of goods stolen in the four thefts was £179.75.

Reade was sentenced to 42 days in jail suspended for 12 months and ordered told to pay £55 in court costs by Fareham magistrates.

He was put under supervision for a year and told to undergo six months of treatment for his drug dependency.

Magistrates made no order for compensation.
