THIEF Jason Hemming was caught with a knife on him while shoplifting in Asda.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing two PlayStation games and a pair of jeans from the store in Fareham on June 30.

He also admitted possessing a Stanley knife blade in the store on the same day.

Hemming, of Tukes Avenue, Gosport, was given a 12-month community order stating that he must take part in a Thinking Skills Programme by Fareham magistrates.

Hemming must also attend appointments with a supervisor when required for the next year.

An order was made for the knife to be forfeited and destroyed.
