PEOPLE trying to call the police on 101 have been unable to get through.

Hampshire Constabulary said the non-emergency number is experiencing difficulties.

A statement from the force said: ‘If you have tried to call in the past few hours, you may not have been able to get through.

‘A team of engineers is working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

‘Please be assured that the 999 emergency number is unaffected but may be busier than usual.

Please do remember than 999 is for emergencies only, but you can report some non-emergency issues and minor crimes online via our website, or by clicking the below link.’

It added the force appreciates people’s patience while the problem is being fixed.
