TWO recruits are being sought to help hold the new police and crime commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to account.

Members are needed for the Hampshire Police and Crime Panel.

Although the police and crime commissioner is ultimately accountable to the electorate after taking office on November 22, they will be required to consult the panel on their plans and budget for policing, council tax precept and the appointment of a Chief Constable. The panel will maintain a regular check and balance on the performance of the Commissioner.

Each member will serve a four-year term. The deadline for applications is 31 August. Visit www3.hants.gov.uk/hampshire-pcp/pcp-members/pcp-recruitment.htm
