A THIEF fled two petrol stations without paying for fuel.

Mark Haire filled up with £37.09 of petrol at the Budgens Local service station at the A272 crossroads with the A32 at West Meon, Petersfield, on September 23.

But then he left without paying.

Haire then fled the Clock Inn service station at Bassett Avenue, Southampton, after filling up a vehicle with £50.01 of petrol on February 5.

The 23-year-old admitted two counts of dishonestly making off without paying for fuel at Fareham Magistrates’ Court.

Haire, from West Ham Close, Basingstoke, was fined £175, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and £15 into a fund for victims of crime.

He must also compensate the two petrol stations he drove off without paying from.
