HAMPSHIRE police have tonight put out an urgent request to find a man who has broken the terms of his release from prison.

Edwin Matthews has connections across the county, including in Southampton, Eastleigh, the New Forest and Romsey.

He is wanted on recall to prison after breaching his licence.

He was released from prison in March, after serving a sentence for burglary and handling stolen goods.

Matthews is white, about 5ft 10in, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

A police spokesman said: ‘Do not approach him directly but if you see him, or know where he is, call 101 quoting 44160415151. In an emergency, call 999.’

Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
