Matthew Hamlen, now aged 38, was found guilty of killing Georgina Edmonds in February 2016, eight years after she was murdered at her home in Brambridge, Winchester.

In 2010 Hamlen was charged with the 77-year-old’s murder, but found not guilty in 2012 following a trial at Winchester Crown Court.

But after the discovery of new evidence, which was presented to the Court of Appeal, Matthew Hamlen was taken to trial for the second time where he was found guilty and jailed for life.

The film will be on tomorrow’s programme and feature interviews from Georgina’s children Harry and Doddie, senior investigating officer Jason Hogg - who is now the Assistant Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, Detective Inspector Martin Chudley, and Detective Constable David Bolton.

It will give the account of how the case was solved and show reconstructions of various moments throughout the case.

Tomorrow’s programme will start at 9pm on BBC 1.
