A REVIEW is being carried out after a consultant for Hampshire police was arrested on suspicion of bribery.

City of London Police carried out raids in Hampshire and Middlesex last week.

A 57-year-old man from Andover, Hampshire, was arrested on suspicion of bribery and bailed until May.

The arrest was in relation to allegations of bribery between 2011 and 2013. At the time of his arrest he was a consultant for Thames Valley Police.

A statement said: ‘The arrest relates to allegations prior to his work with the force which commenced in 2014.’

A Hampshire police spokesman added: ‘We can confirm that the 57-year-old man arrested by City of London police also carried out work for Hampshire Constabulary.

‘The alleged offences pre-date this time. An internal review is being conducted as a part of due diligence.’
