MORE than 500 people visited an event to find out more about rural policing.

Residents, landowners, gamekeepers and rural businesses were among those who attended to find out how Hampshire Constabulary plans to tackle rural crime in the future, and how they can keep their communities safe.

The event at Sparsholt College near Winchester also launched Country Watch, a network of specialist police officers with knowledge and a particular interest in rural crime and issues. A programme of presentations from officers including Assistant Chief Constable Laura Nicholson ran through the day.
