A COUPLE have appeared in court accused of making a false report of a burglary.

James Mondoux, 51, and Ayesha Richardson, 42, of Botley Drive, Havant are charged with wasting police time and fraud by false representation following a report they made of an alleged burglary at their property in May.

They are accused of trying to claim £5,000 from their insurance company.

Neither Mondoux or Richardson entered a plea when they appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court for the first time.

They were released on bail to return to court next week.
