A SERIAL shoplifter with 80 previous convictions for similar crimes has been jailed.

At Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court, Amy Carter pleaded guilty to committing six thefts.

The 29-year-old, from High Lawn Way, Havant, admitted stealing goods from Asda in Portland Road, Waterlooville.

She pleaded guilty to stealing £341 of goods from Asda Wallmart in Purbrook Way, Havant.

Carter also admitted stealing meat from the Co-op in High Street, Emsworth.

She admitted a charge of stealing goods from the Tesco Express store in North Street, Emsworth.

And she pleaded guilty to taking £10.98 of products from the 99p Store in Greywell Road, Havant.

Carter also admitted stealing four bottles of vodka worth £71.08 from Waitrose in North Street, Havant.

She pleaded guilty to committing the string of shoplifting crimes while subject to a community order and an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (Asbo) for theft.

She was sentenced to seven months in prison by Portsmouth magistrates.
