POLICE are appealing for anyone who has lost a distinctive pair of sunglasses to come forward and claim them.

The glasses were lost on either Tuesday or Wednesday in the Alverstoke or Clayhall area of Gosport.

The sunglasses may have been in a car.

A more detailed description of the sunglasses can be provided if somebody contacts the police to verify they are the owners. It comes after police arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle in Clayhall Road on Wednesday.

He was later released with no further action.

Anyone who thinks the sunglasses might belong to them should call Det Con Dermot McBride at Gosport police station on 101.

Anonymous information can be given on 0800 555 111.
