MOTORIST Simon Poulton was caught driving while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Megane in Windsor Close, Hayling Island, after drinking too much on April 17.

A test revealed Poulton’s breath contained 84 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg. Poulton, of Creek Road, Hayling Island, was fined £250 by Fareham magistrates.

He must pay £15 into a fund for victims of crime and £105 in costs and was banned from driving for 18 months.
