THE headteacher of a school has paid tribute to two teenage girls who died in a collision.

Brune Park School pupil Jasmine Allsop, 14, died in the collision in Gosport at 4.15am on Sunday and her close friend Olivia Lewry, 16, a student at St Vincent College, died in hospital afterwards.

The pair were killed when they were knocked down by a car in Ann’s Hill Road, Gosport.

Headteacher Richard Kelly said: ‘This weekend saw the tragic deaths of Jasmine Allsop, a student at Brune Park Community School and Olivia Lewry, a student at St Vincent College who left Brune Park only a few weeks ago.

‘Our thoughts and prayers are with their families at this dreadful time.

‘We have in place a number of procedures and support from Hampshire County Council to work with and support our students at this tragic time.

‘They were both independent, strong-minded individuals who lived their lives to the full with confidence and a sense of humour and a sense of fun.

‘We will miss them both immensely and their unique talents which they displayed.’
