THIEVES have broken into houses by reaching through letterboxes in a spate of burglaries.
Police are linking the four burglaries on the Stoneham Park Estate, Petersfield, in which crooks employed the same method to break in.
Cash and small electrical items such as cameras, MP3 players and mobile phones were stolen.
PC Peter Gott, from Petersfield police, said: ‘It would appear that these homes were broken into via the letterbox – either the offender used a tool or simply put their hand through to reach the door handle.
‘Burglary is a distressing crime and one which we are committed to tackling.’
The burglaries happened between Sunday, September 25 and Tuesday, September 27, although details have only just been released. Call police on 101 if you can help.
