A ROBBER who stole £70 from a woman in the street is being hunted by police.

The victim was in Heathfield Road, North End, Portsmouth, when she was approached by a man.

The robber snatched the woman’s black leather handbag containing the cash.

He then ran away along Heathfield Road towards Pitcroft Road.

Police say the woman was not seriously hurt in the robbery.

But now they are appealing for any witnesses to the crime, which happened at about 2.30pm on Friday, to come forward.

The suspect is white, aged in his 20s, 5ft 9in and of a medium build with short, dark coloured hair.

He wore a brown baseball cap, black tracksuit top and trousers and white trainers.
