TWO elderly women had their bags snatched by thieves on bikes.
Police are appealing for witnesses to help catch the suspects after two incidents at the weekend.
On Saturday, a 77-year-old woman was walking through Jamaica Place in Gosport when a man cycled past and snatched her handbag.
He rode off towards Walpole Park at around 10.40am. The victim’s bank cards were used 20 minutes later at the cash machine at the Co-op in San Diego Road.
The cyclist was white, aged between 17 and 23 years old, and was slim.
He had cropped brown hair and was wearing a beige shirt with grey trousers. He had a dark-coloured mountain bike.
Then on Sunday, at around 9.30am, a 72-year-old woman had a handbag pulled off her arm as she stood at the bus stop in Bury Road.
A cyclist rode past and snatched it from her before riding off towards the town centre.
It is not known if the cyclist was a man or a woman, as they were wearing a brown anorak with the hood up.
The cyclist was around 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and was riding an old bike.
The 72-year-old ran after the suspect and flagged down a car to follow the bike but they were not caught. No force was used in either theft.
