Roof-running louts reported in Cowplain

n Robert Stothard, 33, of Clayhall Road, Gosport, admitted assault by beating and criminal damage on July 5 in Kings Road, Gosport.

Magistrates imposed a community order with 20 days of rehabilitation.

A restraining order bans him from contacting the victim except under certain circumstances for two years.

He must pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Stothard must pay £95 compensation for the damage to the front door.

n Mark Williams, 37, of Farmside Gardens, Hilsea, admitted assault by beating.

He assaulted the man on April 17 in Hilsea.

Magistrates imposed an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.

He must complete a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement for six months.

Williams must pay £150 compensation, a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

n Jamie Bicknell, 26, of Gregson Avenue, Gosport, admitted theft of a phone, assaulting a PCSO, assault by beating and failing to surrender to custody.

Magistrates imposed a community order with a nine-month alcohol treatment requirement.

Bicknell must also complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities.

He must pay £200 compensation, an £85 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs. The assaults and theft were committed on July 18 in Gosport.

n Helena Singleton, 40, of Portland Road, Southsea, admitted two breaches of an Asbo by staying with her mother. She was previously banned from going to her mother’s home.

Magistrates imposed a 14-day prison sentence suspended for three months.

She committed the offences on July 26 and August 18. Singleton must pay a £115 victim surcharge.

n Paul Heppenstall, 34, of Granville Road, Littlehampton, admitted assault by beating against a woman in Newcomen Road, Stamshaw on August 6.

Magistrates imposed a restraining order banning him from contacting the victim for five years.

They sentenced him to a four-month prison term suspended for 18 months.

He must complete 30 days of rehabilitation activities.

Heppenstall must pay £500 compensation, an £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

n Martin Ayling, 34, of Cairo Terrace, Buckland, was found guilty of harassment causing fear.

Magistrates jailed him for 12 weeks for the offence committed between April 1 and June 26 in Cosham.

He sent the victim text messages, phoned her and turned up at her home.

A restraining order bans him from contacting the victim for five years, except in certain circumstances.

He must pay a £115 victim surcharge.
