n Jackson Holt, 22, of Waverley Road, Southsea, admitted handling stolen goods on August 24 in Portsmouth.

He also admitted breaching a conditional discharge for theft and failing to surrender.

He was handed an eight-week sentence for the stolen goods, and re-sentenced to two weeks concurrent on each of the earlier offences.

Magistrates suspended the total eight-week term for 12 months.

Holt must pay £140 compensation.

n Jay McKnight, 34, of Agincourt Road, Buckland, admitted theft of meat and cheese worth £54.78 from Co-op in Southsea, on September 10.

Magistrates imposed a six-month conditional discharge with a £20 victim surcharge.

n Gareth Todd, 31, of Lampeter Avenue, Cosham, admitted possession of an offensive weapon, an extendable baton, on July 18.

He also admitted having pepper spray, and possession of cocaine, a class A drug.

Magistrates imposed a six weeks’ jail for the baton, four weeks for the pepper spray and two weeks for the cocaine. All are concurrent and were suspended for 12 months.

He must pay a £115 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

Magistrates ordered the drugs, baton and pepper spray be destroyed.

n Louis Dalby, 31, of Ibsley Grove, Havant, admitted obstructing a police officer on September 27 at his home.

Dalby was fined £250 for the offence, with a £30 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs to pay.

n Lewis Healy, 28, of Allaway Avenue, Paulsgrove, admitted theft of £303.85 worth of tools from B&Q in Portsmouth.

Magistrates imposed a 12-month conditional discharge for the offence committed on March 14.

The items were recovered.

n Steven Gay, 22, of The Coppice, Gosport, was found guilty of assault by beating against a man on August 21.

He was handed a community order with a 12-hour attendance centre requirement.

He must pay £50 compensation, £85 victim surcharge and £400 prosecution costs.

n Joey Avey, 20, of Abbas Green, Havant, admitted dropping a cigarette butt in Bedhampton Way, Havant.

He pleaded guilty to throwing down, dropping or otherwise depositing litter on March 15.

He was fined £220 with a £20 victim surcharge and £124 costs to pay.

n Aaron Cruickshank, 31, of Mumby Road, Gosport, admitted failing to comply with supervision requirements after being released from prison.

He did not participate in activities by failing to attend appointments on three days.

Cruickshank was jailed for 14 days after admitting the offence.
