MEN claiming to be water company workers have sparked a warning from police.

Officers said there have been two incidents where men have turned up in fluorescent jackets claiming to be from Bournemouth Water and needing access to a metre.

It happened in Crofton and Titchfield. The firm has told police it has no record of work or visits in the area.

A van with the firm name on the side was seen each time.

One man was white, in his late-20s to early-30s, about 5ft 8ins tall and with short ginger hair.

The second man was also white, about 6ft 2ins and with short dark brown hair.

PCSO Jess McNally said: ‘Keep an eye out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours, friends and family.’ Call police on 101 if you can help.
