POLICE are hunting a man who racially abused a stranger in the street.
It happened as the 26-year-old victim – who is black – made his way along Dunsbury Way, Leigh Park, last Thursday.
The suspect launched into an unprovoked verbal attack on him, making threats and shouting out racial abuse.
Investigating officer PC Pete-James Vincent said: ‘We take hate crimes of this nature very seriously, and are appealing to speak with anyone who can give us information about the identity of the offender.
‘The abuse towards this man was totally unprovoked. It took place on a busy road in Havant, and we believe other people would have seen or heard what happened.’
The victim was not assaulted or injured during the incident, which took place between 11.30am and midday on Thursday, May 16. The suspect is white, in his mid 20s and around 5ft 10in. He has a medium build with fair hair and was wearing a white and grey striped jumper and blue jeans.
