ONE man has been arrested for stabbing another in a temporary housing block.

Police officers were called to Agnew Family Centre, in Mill Lane, Gosport, following an incident between two men.

Hampshire police confirmed a 22-year-old was arrested, but could not give out further details.

The victim, also aged 22, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

South Central Ambulance Service attended and confirmed one man was being treated for stab wounds.

The incident happened shortly after 11.50pm on Saturday.

An ambulance service spokesman said: ‘We were called at 11.54pm to reports of an assault.

‘We sent two ambulances and one rapid-response vehicle, and they treated one man in his 20s at the scene.

‘He was then taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital to be treated for stab wounds.’

The police said the case was still under investigation.

The centre is for those who are homeless and waiting to be rehoused.

One resident said: ‘There were about nine police cars and two ambulances that came.

‘There has been a lot of incidents happening here and it needs to be sorted.’
