A WOMAN was inappropriately touched at a leisure centre, police have said.

The 27-year-old was at Gosport Leisure Centre last Tuesday when the incident happened.

She was touched over her clothes by a man she did not know, Hampshire police said.

A statement said: ‘An investigation is now under way and we are reviewing CCTV to assist our enquiries.

‘No other similar reports have been received recently by Hampshire Constabulary.

‘We have identified a man who we will be speaking to in relation to this incident in due course.’

A spokeswoman for Places for People Leisure, which runs the centre in a deal with Gosport Borough Council, said: ‘The safety of our customers is of utmost importance and our staff take any reports of this nature very seriously.

‘An internal investigation into the alleged incident is currently taking place.

‘This is a matter that the police are investigating and we are providing our full co-operation whilst they conduct their inquiries.’
