A MOTORIST caught driving while almost three times the legal alcohol limit has been jailed.

Saulius Zubkus pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on the M275 in Portsmouth after drinking too much on August 14.

A test revealed his breath contained 84 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Zubkus, 48, of Michael Street, County Wexford, Ireland, was sentenced to eight weeks in jail by Portsmouth magistrates.

He was also banned from driving for two years.
