Senior police officer hits out at ‘irresponsible’ drivers after 320 thefts from vehicles

JEWELLERY, mobile phones and other electronic items were stolen in three burglaries.

Hampshire Constabulary is investigating the incidents that happened over the course of last weekend in and around Whiteley.

Entry was forced into the homes between Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7.

Police are calling on any witnesses who might have seen anything suspicious to come forward.

The burglaries happened on Jutland Close, in Swanwick, and Austen Gardens and Rattigan Gardens, in Whiteley, between 6am on March 6 and 11.15pm on March 7.

Items stolen include small electronics such as iPads, iPhones, cameras and jewellery.

Detective Sergeant Damian Glendenning, from the Eastern Investigation Team, said: ‘I would like to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of these burglaries.’
