THIEVES broke into a home and stole perfume and jewellery.

Police are now appealing for witnesses after the burglary in Eastcroft Road, Gosport.

Someone entered the property and took some bottles of perfume, £60 worth of gift vouchers from Love to Shop, and several items of jewellery.

It happened between 8am and 8.30pm on December 5, but police have only just released details.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary: ‘We would appeal to householders to ensure their properties are secure including any side gates during the day.

‘Lock up windows and doors and remember to double lock UPVC doors and do not leave keys on view or in door locks.

‘If you won’t be back until the evening please make use of timer switches to leave some lighting on.’
