A TEENAGER was threatened with a knife as he walked along an alleyway near Havant College.

The 16-year-old was attacked as he walked along the passage at the back of the college that links Petersfield Road and Holybourne Road.

A man, aged about 18 years old, approached and pushed him against a fence.

The offender then held a flick knife to the teenager and demanded he hand over valuables.

At this point, a woman cycled down the alleyway and the attacker ran off empty-handed towards Petersfield Road.

Police are now hunting the offender, who was described as about 6ft tall, of slim build, wearing a grey/charcoal coloured tracksuit bottoms, bright white Adidas trainers, and a dark ‘Barbour’ style jacket.

There was a dark blue scarf covering his face, he had very short hair or bald head, and he spoke with a local accent.

PC Robert Lewis, from Waterlooville CID, said: ‘While the victim was not physically harmed he was understandably left very shaken by this ordeal. ‘In particular we would like to hear from the girl or woman who cycled down the alleyway. She is a crucial witness and I would urge her to come forward.’

The attack happened at about 7.45pm on December 19, although details have only just been released.
