A MAN robbed a cashier at knife-point.

It happened at the Premier shop in Sultan Road, Buckland, Portsmouth.

The man who went into the shop showed the female cashier a knife and demanded she hand over the contents of the till.

The woman, in her 20s, did so. She was not injured but was left shaken. The suspect is white, large, was wearing a white or cream sweater, dark blue baseball cap, a scarf on his face and blue tracksuit bottoms with three white stripes on the side. He was riding a bike.

Police appealed for witnesses as they revealed details of the attack, which happened just after 7.45pm on Tuesday, February 2. Call Fratton CID on 101.

Detective Inspector Martin Chudley said: “We are conducting a number of enquiries locally to identify the offender including house to house visits.

“I would encourage anyone who has not yet spoken to us, who has any information which could help identify the offender, to contact us.”

Police would not reveal how much money the knifeman stole.
