A TEENAGER was robbed at knifepoint by a man who had followed him in a car.

The 18-year-old from Bristol was spending the weekend with his parents and had driven down with a friend.

They stopped at McDonald’s in Toll Bar Way, Hedge End and used the drive thru at just after 9.30pm on Friday.

A vehicle followed them to Kings Copse Avenue in Hedge End where the victim was dropped off by Tesco.

The car that was following them also pulled in. The victim withdrew money from the cash machine and walked towards Cranbourne Park. Just past Kings Copse School in Kings Copse Road the car following him pulled in and a man got out, punched him, and demanded valuables.

He pulled out a Stanley-style knife and held it close to his throat and the victim handed over £90.

The robber tried to steal his rucksack and during a struggle he cut the victim’s T-shirt.

The robber ran off without the bag and the victim went to his parents’ house. Police were called the next day and are appealing for any witnesses to call Eastleigh CID on 101.
