THE last recorded location of missing man Kieran Smith’s mobile phone has been confirmed by police.

The 24-year-old was last seen by his family at his home in Harcourt Road, Fareham at midday on Tuesday, March 10.

His mother Linda Payne said the police had confirmed to her that the last signal to be transmitted from Kieran’s mobile phone was on Tuesday afternoon.

It came from along Ranvilles Lane, headed towards the Stubbington Ark, where he was also spotted by a dog walker.

She said that friends and family had been desperately searching the area.

Mrs Payne, 48, said: ‘The police said that it is an unusual case as with most missing people there are some sightings.

‘With us there has not been anything that we know is definitely true.’

The family have been plagued by trolls, with profiles from the Gosport area, on a Facebook group that has been set up to co-ordinate the search.

The trolls posted lies, made up sightings, posted exaggerated claims and even threatened some of the family.

Mrs Payne said she had reported all the posts to the police, who are investigating.

She said that the whole incident has been incredibly upsetting and she appealed for Kieran to get in touch.

Mrs Payne said: ‘When people ask how I am, I just well up.

‘There has been a lot of support from his friends, without them I don’t know where I would have been.

‘They have been out driving, walking and cycling, putting posters up.’

His friends and family are increasingly concerned for Kieran’s mental heath, after he was talked down from a 90ft pylon in Cosham by police last Monday.

Yesterday police said they are following a number of enquiries and searching, assisted by air support, in fields and woodlands close to Titchfield.

Detective Sergeant Damian Glendenning said: ‘We are following up a number of enquiries and conducting extensive searches to try and find Kieran.

‘If anyone knows where Kieran is, or if you see a man matching his description please get in touch.’

Kieran was wearing a navy blue woollen hoodie, navy blue T-shirt, grey jogging bottoms and white boots when he was last seen. Anyone with information should call 101.
