Police are investigating after a shed was set on fire this morning.
It is the latest in a string of suspected arsons on sheds and garages in the Cosham area over the past few weeks.
Fire from a shed at the bottom of a garden in Pitreavie Road woke neighbours who alerted firefighters at 3.30am.
The timber and tin shed was destroyed but the firefighters, from Cosham station, managed to save the adjoining brick shed.
Last week The News revealed how an investigation had begun over fears an arsonist was at work.
Firefighter Dave Northern said police were called to the scene and are linking it with a series of blazes around the east Cosham area.
He added: ‘We’re not sure what happened but it looks like someone might have started it.
‘It was at the back of a garden with an alleyway behind it. Some people over the other side of the property saw it an alerted us.
We think it is linked. The police were in attendances and are treating it as part of the same spate.’
It took an hour to put the blaze out.
