DRINK-DRIVER Hamish Austin has been banned from the roads.

Austin, 53, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen Gold in Marine Parade East, Lee-on-the-Solent, where he also lives, after drinking too much alcohol.

A test revealed his blood contained 189mg of alcohol per 100ml. The legal limit is 80mg.

Austin was banned from driving for 20 months and fined £100 by Fareham magistrates.

He was told to pay £65 in court costs and £15 to a fund for crime victims.
