POLICE have charged a man with a burglary at a retirement home.

Luke Banner, 20, is accused of breaking into Homeryde House in High Street, Lee-on-the-Solent.

It is alleged he stole £25 once inside.

Banner, of Quinton Fields, Emsworth, is also accused of burgling a house in Wickor Way, Emsworth.

Two diamond rings and a ruby ring were taken.

He did not enter any pleas when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Banner was released on bail to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court in April.
