MAGISTRATES have ordered a thief to do unpaid work.

Daniel Close, 25, of High Street, Lee-on-the-Solent, admitted stealing two jackets and a mobile phone from a community centre in Twyford Avenue, Lee-on-the-Solent.

Close admitted committing the crimes while subject to a conditional discharge for stealing prawns from Asda at Speedfields Park, Fareham.

Fareham magistrates ordered him to do 80 hours of unpaid work in the next year. Close must also pay £295 in compensation.
