A LORRY driver is due in court accused of causing the death of a man by careless driving on the M27.

Richard Bingham, 53, of Thames Close, Warminster, Wiltshire, is due at Fareham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

He is accused of causing the death of Kevin Burton, 45, from Southampton, after a crash on the eastbound carriageway between his DAF arctic lorry and trailer and Mr Burton’s Ford Focus at junction nine at Whiteley.

The crash happened on March 26.

Mr Burton’s widow paid tribute to him after the crash describing him as a ‘wonderful and dedicated dad’ to their two children.

Bingham faces one count of causing death by driving without due care and attention.
