MAGISTRATES have fined a man for assaulting a police officer.

Ryan Hathaway denied assaulting the PC in Gosport on July 29, but he was found guilty by Portsmouth magistrates.

Hathaway, 21, of Cheriton Road, Gosport, admitted a charge of failing to surrender to custody on January 4.

He was fined £130 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £150 in court costs.
