A MAN who brandished a baseball bat during a row has been spared jail.
Darren Hatherley, 47, left the scene of a confrontation in Clarendon Street, Landport, Portsmouth, where he lives, and returned with the baseball bat which he used to threaten another man.
The weapon was not used.
Hatherley admitted using threatening words or behaviour at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
He was sentenced to eight weeks in jail suspended for six months, put under supervision and told to pay £120. He must have treatment for his alcohol problem and was told to take part sessions to address his behaviour.
