A MAN accused of carrying out 51 burglaries has had his case adjourned.

Albert Ian James appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing.

The 57-year-old is accused of burgling homes in Portsmouth, Waterlooville, Havant, Hayling Island and West Sussex between October 23 and December 12 last year.

Judge Ian Pearson adjourned James’ case for a plea and case management hearing. James, of Mill Road Crescent, Chichester, is due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on September 14.
